Objective: To investigate the interaction between viruses and their clinical significance in the case of overlapping infection of HBV and HCV. Methods: ELISA was used to detect serum HBV markers in 30 patients with HBV and HCV infection. HBV DNA and HCV RNA were detected by PCR. Results: The positive rates of HBe Ag, HBV DNA and HCV RNA in patients with overlapping infection were significantly lower than those in patients with HBV or HCV infection alone, and the positive rates of anti - HBe were significantly higher than those of patients with HBV or HCV infection alone. The mean of HBs Ag, anti - HBc Ig G and anti - Geometric titers also significantly lower, some patients HBsAg negative. The TBil, AST / ALT ratio in patients with overlapping infection were significantly higher than that in patients with simple infection, especially in anti-HBe positive patients. Conclusion: HBV and HCV infection interfere with each other in the same host and inhibit each other, which is more serious than the simple infection. Anti-HBe positive can not be used as a judgment index of disease recovery when overlap infection
