“Curved Huangpu River ... Long Elbe ...” These two represent the lyrics of the mother river of the two sisterly cities rippling at the cathedral of St. Michel in Hamburg. On the evening of September 14, 2002, the second cathedral in Europe, hamburger-hailed as the sanctuary of music, was filled with more than 2,000 spectators and watched the Shanghai Prosecutor’s Choir exchange performances with the Hamburg 1901 Police Corps Choir. In response, Schmitz, dean of the Hamburg Conservatory of Music, commented: “You have brought a wonderful choir and performed a number of outstanding Chinese and foreign choral works. The performance was very successful and very exciting.”
