“顾绣”因源于明代松江府顾名世家而得名,是我国唯一以家族冠名的绣艺流派。明嘉靖年间,顾名世筑园于当时上海县城内今九亩地露香园路地区,穿池得一石,有赵文敏手篆“露香池”三字,因以名园(今露香园路即为纪念此园而得名),故世称其家刺绣为“露香园顾绣”“顾氏露香园绣”或简称“露香园绣”“顾绣”。2006年,顾绣被列入国家级非物质文化遗产名录。
