The one-way communication mode across the traditional media point establishes the status of “gatekeeper”. The audience’s understanding of society depends on the “gatekeeper” information selection, filtering and processing. And the internet seems to provide a platform for unlimited freedom in which nobody checks. Instead of reading messages from a single source, people can “pull” the information they want from as much information as they want and can even spread their own exclusive messages and personalized opinions to others. Some people who support such changes even cheer: “The Internet has brought an end to the era of sages whose monopoly of information and culture is dominated by a few.” “The network declared its advent in the absence of a gatekeeper with its accessible communication.”
