自1586年瑞士出现第一本女性时装杂志《Gynasceum,sive Theatrum Mulierum》至今的几百年来,以女性为目标读者的报刊多不胜数。时至今日,主流时尚杂志无不力诱女性解囊购物,让她们沉醉于潮流的物化,努力于以时装百态塑造美丽人生的幻象。如果想从文字当中寻找深度启迪,只可在学术和时事类杂志中找到。在时尚与知性之间真正平衡的杂志,杂志架上确实欠奉。去年初推出的半年刊《The Gentlewoman》,以描绘女性深度思想及知性人生为本,正好对抗了世俗追求物质的虚伪,向全球男女发出一个重要的宣示:“女人,感兴趣的不只是手袋。”
