公安是公安社会学研究的逻辑起点。抛开历史的因素 ,“公安”和“警察”是同一的。称“公安社会学”而不称“警察社会学”,意在标明研究内容的中国特色。公安工作具有明显的社会特质 ,社会性是公安工作的本质属性。社会学研究与公安工作有许多客观而自然的联系。公安社会学的建立和发展是社会的客观需要 ,植根于社会和经济变革的现实土壤之中。它以公安工作与社会整体及各要素间相互关系及其变动规律为研究对象 ,知识结构具有开放性 ,立足社会研究公安工作 ,围绕公安工作研究社会。
Public security is the logical starting point of public security sociology research. Apart from the historical factors, “public security” and “police” are the same. Called “Public Security Sociology” and not “police sociology”, intended to indicate the content of the Chinese characteristics. Public security work has obvious social characteristics, social nature is the essential attribute of public security work. There are many objective and natural links between sociological research and public security work. The establishment and development of public security sociology is an objective social need and is rooted in the reality of social and economic transformation. It takes the work of public security and the social as a whole and the interrelationships between various elements and their variation law as the research object. The knowledge structure is open, based on social research of public security work, and studies the society around the public security work.
