Objective To investigate the difference between low-dose CT and conventional CT in the diagnosis of adult pulmonary tuberculosis. Methods 100 patients with tuberculosis from Hangu Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Binhai New Area were randomly divided into study group and control group with 50 cases in each group. The study group received low dose CT while the control group received conventional dose CT. The image quality, focal lesion quality, radiation dose and noise of two groups of CT were compared. Results There was no significant difference in CT image quality between the two groups (P> 0.05). There was no significant difference in the image quality between the two groups (P> 0.05) (P> 0.05). There was significant difference between the two groups in radiation parameters: total radiation dose (CTDIvol), effective radiation dose (ED) and noise. Conclusion Compared with conventional CT, low dose CT images show good results and low radiation dose, which is beneficial to the follow-up and treatment follow-up of patients with pulmonary tuberculosis.
