There are a number of systems in care routine for patients with acute myocardial infarction who lack the scientific basis for acute hospitalization. Patients are generally not allowed to drink hot or cold drinks during the acute phase because fear of overheating or over-cooling may adversely affect the patient’s heart rate, blood pressure, and heart rate. Many coronary heart disease units in the United States do not allow hot and cold fluids to be consumed in patients with acute myocardial infarction.
