1994年6月2日倪孝先同志离我们而去了,噩耗传来,我们这些曾经与他一起长期工作过的老同志,感到十分悲痛。 当1951年组建军事医学科学院并同时建立该院图书馆的时候,倪孝先同志与老馆长吴尔中同时调到该院图书馆工作,从此他与几位老同志一道担当起军事医学科学院图书馆的建设和发展的艰巨任务。建馆初期既没有图书馆的设备也没有书刊资料,白手起家。面对国家和军队的重要科研单位,需要文献资料;面对繁重的建馆任务,倪孝先同志积极主动地配合馆长做好科研服务的各项工作。兵马未动,粮草先行,他负责书刊资料的采购工作,当时正值抗美援朝,美帝国主义使用了细菌武器,为了粉碎敌人细菌
