龟虽寿①神龟虽寿②,犹有竟时③;腾蛇乘雾④,终为土灰。老骥伏枥⑤,志在千里;烈士暮年⑥,壮心不已。盈缩⑦之期,不但在天;养怡之福⑧,可得永年⑨。【注释】①曹操乐府歌辞《步出夏门行》共四章,前边有序曲。《龟虽寿》是第四章。②神龟:传说龟能活三千岁,因此有“神龟”之称。③竟:终了,死。④腾蛇:传说中能腾云驾雾的一种“神蛇”。⑤骥(jì),日行千里的好马;枥(lì):马棚。⑥烈士:指有抱负有才干的人。
