To commemorate the Scottish scholar James Hutton (James Hutton) contribution to the geological sciences. Royal Society of Edinburgh and Royal Society of London jointly advocate and organize a total of 270 participants in the International Granite Symposium. From Britain, China, the United States, Canada, Australia, France, West Germany, Sweden, Belgium, New Zealand and more than 20 countries. The conference received more than 100 papers, the meeting read 20 articles. A week-long field geology study was also conducted on the Caledonian granites in Donegal, Northern Ireland. James Hatton was born in Edinburgh in 1726. His life has shown great interest in geosciences. Published many papers, such as his doctoral dissertation “Theory of the Earth.” James Hatton made extensive field geology and interior research work on granites. Confirm that many granite bodies are intrusive. It is very valuable to put forward these views 200 years ago
