Recent Suzaku observations of galaxy cluster outskirts out to the virial radiusreported an abnormally high baryon fraction, a value much larger than the cosmic value.Theobserved entropy profiles are also flatter than the LCDM prediction.Using high-resolutioncosmological hydrodynamical cluster simulations we show that gas clumping, which artificiallyincrease gas density profile measurements in cluster outskirts, can be explain such discrepancies. We also characterize the mass and redshift dependence of gas clumping and providefitting formulas for clumping based on the self-similarity of clumping.
