Based on ash, teak and black walnut as the research object, with three aspects of macroscopic patterns for the wood material, to extract from the aesthetic elements of lumber, use pattern design technique to design and create a rich variety of decorative patterns, applied to the product design and decoration design, aims to provide theoretical reference for the wood.Selecting broad leaved tree species in ash, three kinds of teak and walnut wood for research and analysis. Respectively for three kinds of wood transverse section, the diameter and the decorative pattern of tangential section characteristic, summarized the basic characteristics of three kinds of wood grain, northeast China ash transverse pattern as well as other wood decorative pattern in the form of concentric circles of divergence, diameter plane parallel strips is beautiful decorative pattern, tangential section is obviously changeable banded pattern; Teak a transverse pattern lines radian elegant, clear grain, straight line diameter section of decorative pattern, in single or multiple columns, tangential section is multicolored oil shadow patterns, abound change. Walnut transverse pattern of stripes obviously, line transition soft, diameter cut wood grain is exquisite, tangential section group that is a beautiful pattern.Based on theory of pattern design, with three aspect of macroscopic patterns for the wood material, USES the design of direct use, refactoring and mutation technique to design to design.Embellished with products and background for the application object, using virtual design method, through to the manchurian ash wood, teak, walnut decorative pattern design, won, plaid, elegant diamond grain, water ripple, head grain, and grain, COINS, horse lines, green decorative pattern, lentils, eye lines, v-shaped water ripples, W, corrugated, C, B form lines, x-shaped lines, such as large s-shaped grain of lumber aesthetic pattern. According to the characteristics of the wood patterns were applied to the products and decorative background design, highlight the details of the product characteristics and visual effects or rich designs and highlight decorate the background of the overall unity and its details.The conclusion of this paper is as follows:(1) For the three kinds of typical wood cutting, wood decorative pattern design of gain analysis, summarized the basic characteristics of three kinds of wood grain.(2) By using the basic methods of wood pattern design again, acquired a lot of new wood aesthetic patterns, and its application in the characteristics of the products, decorative background are analyzed.
