The structures and machinery of water conservancy and hydroelectricity engineering would be corroded by organic wastewater, and dyeing wastewater is one of main sources of organic pollution. It has important practical significance to reduce the harm of environmental pollution by treating dyeing wastewater. Therefore, in order to find the effective way to dispose dyeing wastewater by using non-metallic minerals, zeolite, bentonite and diatomaceous earth were used to conduct the research of "Study on Dyeing Wastewater Treatment by Using Non-metallic Minerals" in this paper.First, drilling bentonite, natural bentonite, organic bentonite, diatomaceous earth and natural zeolite were used to treat man-made dyeing wastewater in this paper. The experimental results showed that better color removal effect could be obtained in dyeing wastewater treatment by using various non-metallic minerals and COD could be partially removed. Especially, the color and COD removal rates were 91.89% and 16.22% respectively in dyeing wastewater treatment while using drilling bentonite. The experimental research by using the two of drilling bentonite, diatomaceous earth and natural zeolite and the three of them to dispose dyeing wastewater, showed that using non-metallic minerals combination to treat dyeing wastewater was better than single non-metallic mineral did. The color and COD removal rates were 93.15% and 19.42% while using the combination of drilling bentonite (4000mg/L) and natural zeolite (4000mg/L) to dispose dyeing wastewater under the following conditions: vibration velocity: 140~150r/min; temperature: 25℃; treatment time: 10min; pH: 2; still sedimentation time: 35h.The experimental results of using non-metallic mineral and coagulant to treat dyeing wastewater showed that adding appropriate and proper quantity of coagulant would help to improve the treatment efficiency. The experimental results of using non-metallic mineral to treat real dyeing wastewater showed that the color and COD removal rates were 55% and 5152% respectively when the dosage of bentonite and zeolite was 4000mg/L.The more specific surface area non-metallic mineral contains, the better treatment effect can be obtained when using mineral to dispose dyeing wastewater. The adsorption effects of non-metallic mineral which was used to dispose dyeing wastewater include Van der Waals, electrostatic potential, chemical and hydrogen bond forces.
