花序形态建成是开花植物独具的特征。禾本科植物的花序长度和分枝数目决定花的数量,进而在很大程度上影响着谷物的生产能力。玉米是禾本科植物中雌雄异花的植物,其花序发育具有鲜明的特点。雄花序位于植株顶端,发育要稍早于叶腋处的雌花序。研究表明,大量的转录因子类基因在各类分生组织的身份、确定性和维持过程中起着至关重要的作用。另外,small RNA也在转录及转录后水平参与花序发育进程。ARGOUNAUTE(AGO)蛋白作为sRNA介导的沉默复合体的重要核心组成部分,也参与到生长发育、环境胁迫响应和转录因子的表观
