China’s rapid advance in economy has placed her as the second biggest economy in the world. Sourcing from rapid economic development Chinese influence in global economy and world affairs greatly increased. As a result "China Threat" theories interpreting China as a challenge to status quo and a threat to global stability and peace rose among scholars and statesmen. As China’s One Belt One Road project has been started to be initiated in 2013, "China Threat" theories grew in range and scope seeing One Belt One Road Initiative a tool of hegemony seeking and increasing China’s range of influence. Yet, when China’s political economy is taken into consideration Chinese foreign policy do not reflect such points. On the contrary, China is on the edge of a change seeking to reform her internal structures in a number of spheres including economy, politics and society. Moreover, China’s development and sustainability is to be achieved when international stability and peace are consolidated. Therefore, One Belt One Road Initiative is to boost international cooperation rather create a vacuum for Chinese hegemony or influence. This study charts the forces of Chinese economy and foreign policy, maps their ties to One Belt One Road Initiative and sets out the content of cooperation building and assesses the implication of One Belt One Road Initiative.
