A rapid manufacturing technology for microfluidic chip based on PMMA

  Microfluidic chip technology which utilizing microelectronics,computers,micro-processing technology,etc.,will be employed for the analysis of the reaction unit and pre-treatment device,miniature,integrated in a very small chip.Multiple-sample analysis will be quickly achieved by a highly automated optical electric signal micro-processing technology and computer technology.It is one of the latest high-throughput,rapid,information-based micro-portable analytical technologies.It is promising in the fields of health,medicine and analysis testing.In this paper,a rapid,low-cost,unique manufacturing technology for microfluidic chip based on PMMA was employed by ordinary laser engraving machine to etch the chip reaction unit and liquid channel after printing the designing scheme as printer.After that,the cover plate and main plate was quickly sealed together by heat sealing technology.The detection electrode and the electric circuit were embedded in the chip by hot-melting,and then fixed.The unique design of the substantive chip is considered as a self-contained unit to bear sample and emplace complex circuit with separation to the electric circuit of external device.The only point of contact to the chip card holder was to connect with external devices and responsible for signal transmission.Aspects of the technologies were improved and innovated,such as the chip etching method,heat sealing package,chip circuit set and facility,etc.Results displayed that the technology to complete the non-contact capacitive coupling conductivity detector chip (capacitively coupled contactless conductivity detection chip),Vpp = 10V,f = 95kHz carrier liquid 1:0.9 acetate sulfonic acid (MES)-histidine (His) under conditions detected contained K +,Mg2 + ions,the performance is completely normal.Effective detection range of K+ is 3.1~50 μmol.L-1,and Mg2+ is 1.0~100μmol.L-1.The chip will become commoditized,and even disposable supplies like things have some role in the industrialization of the microfluidic chip.Perhaps,in the field of detecting water quality and food (no organic solvent occasions),the actual application can immediately realize.
