The highly advanced liquid crystal materials having large Δε and low γ1 are required for an IPSLCD.We have developed and presented fluorinated liquid crystal materials of fused ring systems [1,2,3,4,5,6].In this talk,we present new fluorinated liquid crystal materials with -CF2O-linkage and a trifluoronaphthalene ring as a terminal in a liquid crystal molecule.The new fluorinated liquid crystal components were synthesized from 5,6,7-trifluoronaphthalen-2-ol(567-TFNT),which is a key intermediate derived from 3,4,5-trifluorophenylacetic acid.
