　　A numerical simulation of a cylindrical rod impacting on a thin plate was carried out by using smooth particle hydrodynamics(SPH)method.The relationship between spatial coordinates and velocity of particles in the simulation results was analyzed by assigning gauge points on the profile of projectile and target plate.
