The G0/G1 switch gene 2(G0S2)is a novel inhibitor of adipocyte triglyceride lipase(ATGL),which plays an central role in lypolysis.Several reports have suggested that G0S2 is a multifaceted protein with disparate functions related to metabolism,inflammation,and carcinogenesis.Recent studies showed G0S2 is a possible tumor suppressor in leukemia cells,but its regulation mechanism still remains unclear.Here,we showed that the intercation between G0S2 and nucleolin results in the proliferation of hepatoma cells.Immunoprecipitation analysis showed that the hydrophobic domain G0S2 interacts with nucleolin.Immunofluorescence analysis indicated that G0S2 directly interact with nucleolin and effect on its localization.Interestingly,flow cytometry analysis showed that knockdown of G0S2 expression increased the cell number.Together,our results demonstrate that G0S2 inhibits the proliferation of hepatoma cells via targeting nucleolin.
