Background:Grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idellus) is one of four major freshwater fish in China and,among freshwater species,is the most cultivated for food.Aquacultural development of grass carp has been seriously hindered by grass carp hemorrhage virus (GCHV),which causes severe internal and external hemorrhaging.
