A total of 780 Megalobrama amblycephal were divided into two groups randomly. The control group was only fed with basal diet; the test groups fed with basal diet added with 0.1% anthraquinone extract, respectively. After 70d, fish were infected A.hydrophila.The fish growth, blood cortisol, total protein, glucose, lysozyme and hepatic antioxidant indices, HSP70 mRNA level at 6h, 12h, 24h, 48h after A.hydrophila infection were measured. The results showed that the growth gain, specific growth rate, blood lysozyme activity and hepatic superoxide dismutase activities in treated fish increased whereas the feed conversion rate, mortality rate reduced in treated fish before A.hydrophila infection.
