This study investigates the effectiveness of Web 2.0 Supported Collaborative Learning (W2SCL) in students epistemic cognition in English language learning.The participants were 36 secondary school students in Hong Kong,who took part in collaborative learning via a Web 2.0 educational website titled "Writing to share".Students interacted and collaboratively learnt with each other through a class blog.We also administered the Epistemic Cognition Questionnaire (ECQ) to examine whether collaborative learning through class blogs can foster students epistemic cognition in English language learning.Empirical findings indicated that publishing students writings and responses in Web 2.0 environments can engage students in sharing ideas,celebrating and giving feedbacks.The findings confirmed that collaborative learning supported by Web 2.0 technologies can foster students social epistemic cognition in English language learning.
