In the petroleum industry, carbon dioxide (CO2) has long been used as an efficient solvent to displace and extract the remaining crude oil in an oil reservoir.In many oilfield applications worldwide, miscible CO2 injection has been proven to be an effective enhanced oil recovery (CO2-EOR) method for exploiting the light and medium oil reservoirs, whose pressures are higher than the so-called minimum miscibility pressures (MMPs).
