　　The aim of this paper is to utilize carbon dioxide (CO2)-induction to achieve sol-gel transition and mix cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) with the polyelectrolyte complex (PEC) matrix to construct polyelectrolyte hydrogels with tunablemechanical properties.
