The traditional immunochromatographic assay strips utilizecolloidal gold labeled antibodies as a marker.Here we introduced carbon dots into an immunochromatographic assay for quantitative detection of CEA in serum.Carbon dots has a non-blinking fluorescence emission and is more economical than colloidal gold.A sandwich immunoassay was developed and the fluorescence intensity of the test line in the test strip was proportional to the CEA content in the specimens.The fluorescence intensities of the test and control lines were recorded using a commercial fluorescence strip reader.T A significantly good agreement was observed between the test strip and immunoturbidimetricassay.The developed novel assay in this study is a sensitive,rapid,low-cost,and quantitative method for detection of CEA in serum.
