Deformation distribution is one of the most attractive indicators for structural health monitoring,but it is difficult to directly measure especially for long-span bridges due to the limitations of available displacement transducers.An method to indirectly get the deflection information firom macro-strain measurements are proposed,in which novel long-gauge fiber optic sensors instead of traditional point-type strain gauge,are used to measure structural macro strains.
