　　In this talk I will summarise the findings from the SAVE study; and a recent meta-analysis of trials that have reported the impact of PAP treatment of sleep apnea on cardiovascular events.It will highlight the ethical and practical challenges in conducting randomised controlled trials in this area and will discuss some possible design options for future studies.
