Metal-catalyzed alternating copolymerization of alkenes and carbon monoxide received significant research attention from both academics and industry.1,2,3,4,5 The continuous research efforts led to the large-scale production of terpolymers of CO,ethylene,and propylene as engineering plastics by Shell and as packaging materials by BP in the 1990s.
