Both ion bombardment etching and chemical corrosion were used for polycrystalline CdTe thin films surface treatment.The effect on properties of CdTe films treated by both methods was studied.Surface of the films treated by ion bombardment etching were more even than that by chemical method.It was Te-rich in the surface of CdTe thin films corroded by chemical method, while it was Cd-rich element treated by ion bombardment etching.The results showed that there were little difference of solar cells treated by both ion bombardment etching and chemical corrosion.
