  Horticultural products are susceptible to a range of physiological disorders including those related to senescence,low temperature and carbon dioxide.The underlying physiology and biochemistry of many of these disorders is poorly understood l-Methycyclopropene (1-MCP) is an inhibitor of ethylene perception that has allowed plant biologists to examine the role of ethylene on many metabolic processes.Physiological disorders can be separated into categories that are inhibited or enhanced by ethylene production.
