Leptin (LEP) is considered to play a role in growth, the regulation of appetite, energy partition, and body composition in animals.In this study, 296 cultivated Takifugu rubripes individuals were screened for polymorphisms in the LEP using PCR-single strand conformation polymorphism (PCR-SSCP) and DNA sequencing.Two mutations were found from T.rubripes LEP : C/G at position 232bp and C/T at position 310bp.
