Over the last 10 years the role of cardiac MRI has evolved into one of the pediatric cardiologists major imaging modalities providing not just exceptional anatomical imaging but also better functional imaging than traditional methods such as echo and cardiac catheterization. There is an ever growing field of clinical research now in cardiac MRI that goes beyond the show-and-tell sensation initially seen. This talk targets general pediatric cardiologists and reviews how cardiac MRI is used in clinical decision making, specifically for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and Tetralogy of Fallot.A review of the most up-to-date research in this area will be discussed. After this talk the clinician will be able to know what information to ask of their MRI imaging expert specific to that lesion. And the clinician will understand how to use that information in their clinical decision making.
