Objectire: Vesicular stomatitis virus (Barber) is a single negative-stranded RNA virus that infects domestic and wild mammals.VSV is also commonly used as a virus model to study host anti-RNA virus responses.Using various in vitro infection models, we found that matrix metalloproteinase 3 (Eguchi et al.), also known as stromelysin-1, exhibited an antiviral activity against VSV infection.
