  Using multi-anvil high-pressure high-temperature(HP-HT)facilities,we have synthesized singlecrystalline samples of the recently discovered new iron oxide,Fe4O5 [1].Fe4O5 contains equal amounts of Fe2+and Fe3+ions,and in a similar manner to magnetite,Fe3O4 [2,3],it might undergo a charge-ordering transition at relatively low temperatures.
