Tendon-driven robots are driven by using ropes.In this driving method,a drive pulley is rotated by an actuator and transmits power through the rope wound around the pulley.Long-distance power transmission and wide range of motion can be achieved by using this driving system.It is thought that the tendon-driven robots are useful for work in dangerous places where human beings cannot enter inside,such as decommission of a nuclear power plant and rescue activity at a disaster site with a lot of rubble.
