Air quality in Northern China is notoriously poor and recently has become an issue associated with increasing social unrest.To examine the regional pollution patterns,a PM2.5 (aerosol particle with aerodynamic diameter less than 2.5 μm) sampling campaign was conducted to analyze the concentration and composition of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) at a national station for background atmospheric monitoring (38.19oN,120.74oE) of the Tuoji Island (TI),China.A total of 75 PM2.5 samples were collected on quartz fiber filters from November 2011 to January 2013 (Whatman,QM-A,20.3×25.4 cm2) using a high volume sampler at a flow rate of 1.1 m3 min-1.
