The quest of an exact and nonperturbative treatment of quantum dissipation in non-Gaussian coupling environments remains in general an intractable task.In this work we address both the physical and mathematical issues on open quantum systems in a class of non-Gaussian coupling environments. As an illustration we consider explicitly a harmonic bath coupled quadratically with an arbitrary system, and identify the basic physical requirement on the non-Gaussian bath model.
