A micro GJC was developed for the analysis of volatile and semi volatile compounds in air and gaseous samples.The system is constructed of a sampling pump (300 mL/min); a sorptive extraction unit to enrich target analytes, a short capillary column with an i.d.of 100 μm and a chip plasma emission detector.The detector can be operated in the universal (C-trace) or in the selective (e.g.P,S) mode.In the universal mode a minimum absolute amount (LOD) of 100-200 pg can be detected.The detector shows good selectivity for phosphorus and sulfur-containing compounds.For example for phosphorus, the selectivity is 105 gP/gC.
