The application of photodynamic therapy (PDT) in the treatment of cancer has remarkable advantages over conventional chemotherapy,due to its quick therapeutic effect [1,2].However,poor water solubility of photosensitizers often limitstheir pharmacokinetic properties,hence reducing thetherapeutic efficacy in biological systems.In this work,polyacrylic acid (PAA) based nanoparticles (NPs) were synthesized through the supramolecular self-assembly (Fig.1) and employed as a vehicle for the delivery of a type Ⅱ photosensitizer,silicon phthalocyanine (SiPc),into cancer cells for the PDT application.
