Industrial organizations are promoting safety education as a part of measures to prevent industrial accidents,with a view to raise safety awareness of organizational members.The effects of safety education,however,have not been significant since safety education and safety awareness are still not fully understood.This paper analyzed the concepts of safety education and safety awareness and examined the status of safety education.The paper illustrated the dynamic system of safety education,and suggested to broadly interpret safety awareness from three perspectives-safety recognition,commitment to safety,and safety behavior.Furthermore,it measured direct effects of safety training as well as indirect effects on organizations brought by changes in safety behavior of organizational members,and suggested evaluating the effects of safety education in a more comprehensive manner,by looking at the development of a safety culture and the advancement of a safety-related economy.It also raised some issues which require further consideration in the future.
