Assumed to be an important component of translation universals,explicitation has drawn a lot of attention since its birth in 1958 (Vinay & Darbelnet).Later,with the introduction of the influential explicitation hypothesis (Blum-Kulka,1986) which posits an increase of cohesive explicitness during the translation process from source text to target text,a heated debate over the issue of explicitation spreads out.
