For the determination of Ephedrine alkaloids, a kind of nerve analeptics, in Chinese Herbs or body-fluid samples for forensic purpose, different analytical methods are used.UV detector combined with HPLC was chosen as national standard for determination of Ephedrine and Pseudoephedrine in Ephedra herba (Ma-Huang).However, the applicability of UV detection in forensic analysis is limited due to its limits of detection and high matrices effect.Recently, CE-LIF, CE-conductance were developed to meet these requirements.However, various derivatives or additives were required, which would make the analytical procedure complicated, and limit the applicability of methods.
