The precipitation recycling ratio (rr) is a important variable to research hydrological water cycle, especially in arid region. There are many recycling models developed to calculated rr.In this research, two kind of representative recycling models (Brubaker and DRM) were used to calculate rr from 1981 to 2010.The rr calculated from above two models has very different spatial and temporal characteristics (see Fig.2).And for a same model, the result is also sensitive to different evepotranspiration data (Fig.1 and 2), especially the DRM.After further analysis from different spatial and temporal scales in arid region (shown in Fig.3 and 4), it was found that the evapotranspiration is an important variable affectingrr variation(Fig.3), and the precipitation will decrease if moisture flux reduces, and the rr will increase as a kind of compensation(Fig.3 and 4).In the other hand, if wind speed decreases, the air will take more time to cross the region and capture the evaporation vapor, so wind speed will also influence the rr(Fig.4).
