In this work,a simple method to enhance upconversion(UC)intensity through codoping with a large amount of K+ ions has been proposed,and the effects of introducing K+ ions in NaYF4 matrix on the phase and morphology have been investigated in detail.The phase are changed to the mixture of KYF4 and NaYF4 with increasing the concentration of K+ ions to 40 mol%,subsequently,when K+ ions concentration beyond 80 mol%,the phase of NaYF4 disappear.Furthermore,the morphologies are changed from sphere to plate and finally to pillar.Besides,the UC emission intensity of NaYF4:Yb,Er is gradually improved and reached a maximum when the concentration of K+ ions was 20 mol%.The UC emission mechanism is discussed in detail.
