Anthracyclines are one class of the typical antitumor antibiotics in drug studies and some of them have been used in medicine for the treatment of some cancers11,2.In this research, a new anthracycline misamycin (1),together with η-pyrromycinone (2)3, 4-deoxy-ε-pyrromycinone (3)4 and other six known anthracyclines including cinerubin A (4)5, cinerubin B (5)5, antibiotic 80334 C (6)6, cinerubin X (7)7, collinemycin (8)8 and musettamycin (9)8 were isolated from the fermentation broth and mycelium of an endophytic Streptomyces sp.YIM66403.Compound 1 showed cytotoxicity against HL-60, SMMC-7721, MCF-7, A-549, SW4801 cells with IC50 value of 15.37, 16.34, 25.98, 20.71, 9.75 μM, respectively, and modest antibacterial activity against gram-positive bacterium Staphylococcus aureus with an MIC of 64 μg/mL.
