The data management activities for the UK SOLAS programme funded by the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) started in 2006 with the formation of the UK SOLAS Data Centre (SDC) and the publication of the UK SOLAS data management plan and policy.The SDC will operate for the duration of the programme until 2010.It acts as the data assembly centre,and provides data management support to all fieldwork activities and scientific work.The work of the SDC will ensure that the UK SOLAS data are assembled in an easily accessible,standardised,quality controlled and fully documented data set.
