　　Iodine from a coastal marine source is thought to be a significant contributor to particle formation processes from work done at Mace Head.The importance of iodine at Cape Grim is of great interest,and was the subject of the Precursors to Particles campaign,February 2006.A significant component of the iodine source at Cape Grim is the biological production and emission of methyl iodide.
