Strong field physics has been extensively studied over the years for lasers with wavelength near 800 nm.With the emergence of new technology of generating mid-infrared lasers and of waveform synthesis, the future of this field is extremely bright.In this talk, I will present two topics that could have great significance in many applications: (1) Laser-induced electron diffraction for imaging molecular dynamics at sub-angstrom and few-femtosecond spatial and temporal resolutions, respectively.(2)Generation of tunable high-order harmonics as bright table-top light sources with waveform-controlled broadband few-femtosecond laser pulses.
