Zinc oxide is a semiconductor with wide band gap and large exciton binding energy at room temperature which has received much attention because of its potential as materials for conversion of light into chemical energy,particularly when they are in the form of particles with sizes of the order of the nanometers.In this context we are interested in studying two-dimensional semiconducting nanostructures formed by a quasi-molecular inorganic layer confined into matrices of organic anphiphilic species,which in bulk may be seen as layered host-guest intercalation compounds.In this work we discuss the preparation,properties and efficiency for de degradation of organic dyes of layered zinc oxide derivatives.
